Q - What kind of computer do I need to run Frameworks?

A - Frameworks will run on both PC and Macintosh computers. It is recommended that on a Macintosh you do not run PhotoShop at the same time as Frameworks, you must have 500M of free RAM to run the program.

Q - When I open Frameworks it starts in Demo Mode.  How do I get into the full version?

A - You need to register your software.  After you install the program it will prompt you to request registration. When you request registration we will check your customer account and send you a link that has the file to download onto your computer. Copy the studio.gnp file that you download into the GNP Prices folder on your desktop. Once this is completed, the next time you open Frameworks you will have a full version.

Q - I am using the Demo of FrameWorks and can't import any images to frame. What do I do?
A - When you are running the Demo of FrameWorks you MUST use the demo images provided by GNP. Follow these steps to get started:
1. Click on New Customer, call it TEST and click SAVE
2. Fill out the first and last name of the customer and click SAVE
3. Click on the Image Directory Button at the bottom of the window
4. Locate the folder called "Demo" inside the FrameWorks folder (you may have to go up one folder level to find it)
5. Open the Demo folder. Inside will be folder called Wedding and a folder called Portrait. You can choose either one to open.
6. Open the selected folder then click the Save button
7. FrameWorks will import the images from this folder and open the Lightbox tab in the software.
8. You can then click the Load All Images button or select certain images to load by clicking on them.
9. Drag the images you want to frame into the grey box on the right side of the screen.
10. You are now ready to frame the images.

Q - When I try to download the registration file nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

A - After you have filled in the registration form and click on Next you will be taken to a screen with instuctions on downloading the activation file. If you click on Download Activation and nothing happens this means you have a pop-up blocker installed on your web browser. For most pop up blockers you can view the pop ups when you hold down the CONTROL key while click on the button. You will need to do this both on the Download Activation button and then on the OK button which will follow. If this does not work, read the instructions on the pop up blocker you installed to see how to by-pass it.

Q - FrameWorks is running slow and my images dissapear. What is going on?

A - If this is happening to you while running a registered version your image file sizes are too big. They must be less than 1M if you are importing folders with many images. DO NOT use the raw image sizes right out of your camera, even if they are JPGs. These file sizes are too big to be manipulated in FrameWorks and will cause the program to crash. You can run a PhotoShop action to reduce the size of the images in the folder before bringing them into FrameWorks.

Q How do I download Version 2?

A If you do not already have Version 2 installed, the next time you open a registered copy of Frameworks while connected to the internet it will ask if you would like to Download Version 2. Click on Yes. Select the directory you would like to save the application. Then open this file. It will take several minutes to download as it is a 50M file. You will then be walked through the installation process. When prompted to register Version 2.0 click on the button. Follow the instructions to the right of the button on where to save the registration file. It must be saved in the GNP Prices folder on your desktop. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AND WILL DETERMINE IF THE SOFTWARE RUNS PROPERLY.

Q - How do I modify the prices?

A - You must be connected to the Internet in order to modify the client pricing. Open the GNP Prices Folder and double clik on Pricelist.html. Follow the instructions on the webpage for loading in the pricelist. Your web browser will open with each product category and the price sheet beneath it. You will see Designer Collection Price Configuration listed first. All pricing is defaulted at a 100% markup from your single unit cost. If this is what you would like to charge your customers than you do not need to make any changes. If you do want to modify prices then continue with these instructions.

Q - Can I mix and match Moldings and Mats?

A - YES! After choosing your Product, goto the Frame tab. First choose your molding. Click on the molding, drag it over the existing frame molding. You will see it change both the molding and the mat in the main screen. Drop the selection. Now go select the mat you would like to use if it is not the matching mat. When you drag it over to the main frame, drag it on top of the mat to change only the mat. You will see this visually before dropping it.

For example, if you would like to order a Designer Collection 11x14, with an Antique Lace molding and an Alabaster White mat you would go through the following steps.

1. Click on Products Tab

2. Click on the 11x14 option and drag it to the main screen

3. Click on the Frames Tab

4. Select the Antique Lace Corner on the right and drag it over the existing frame on the main screen.

5. Now select the Alabaster White Corner on the right and drag it over the mat on the main screen. You will see that just the mat has changed.

6. Verify your selection above the frame. It will say
Designer Collection 11x14

Molding: Antique Lace

Mat: Alabaster White

Q - Can I order custom size frames that are not listed in Frameworks?

A - Yes.  Select the closest size to what you are looking for.  Then, in the special instructions note exactly what you want.  For example, if you want a 9x17 frame, select a 10x20 and in the notes write “Frame needs to be sized for a 9x17 image.”  Please remember that there is a nominal charge for custom sizes.
